Route type determines how data travels and how the connection is operated; it is not a universal speed ranking.

IEPL Dedicated Line

IEPL dedicated lines generally use relatively independent, enterprise-grade link resources for cross-region transmission. They tend to provide a steadier path and suit scenarios that require consistent international connectivity. For remote work, extended collaboration, ongoing use of AI Tools, or repeated access to services in a specific region, these routes are worth checking first. Their resource costs are usually higher than standard direct connections, so route counts and locations are configured according to actual network conditions. When choosing one, confirm the target service's region rather than relying only on the city in the route name.

Transit routes

Transit routes pass through intermediate nodes between your device and the target region, with those nodes handling part of the international transmission. Their value lies in allowing the path to adapt to network direction and offering more flexible combinations between regions. For everyday browsing, video meetings, cross-border collaboration, and most international websites, transit routes are a practical starting point. Transit does not guarantee a fixed speed or experience: the destination, carrier routing, time of day, and service-side status all affect the result. If connections repeatedly fail, first try another transit entry point in the same region before changing route types.

Direct routes

Direct routes use a relatively straightforward path with a simpler link structure. They suit tasks with clear regional requirements where minimizing intermediate steps is desirable. For public webpages, lightweight tools, and regional testing, start with a direct route. Direct does not mean it is best for every network environment, nor does it always outperform transit or an IEPL dedicated line. If pages load slowly, persistent connections drop, or collaboration becomes unstable, compare with a transit route in the same region. Direct routes generally have a lighter cost structure and work well as a baseline option for everyday switching.

Everyday browsing

For reading, searching, and visiting international websites, start with a region close to the target service. Transit and direct routes can both serve as starting points. Focus on whether pages load completely, login sessions remain active, and images and scripts continue to open normally. If only one website behaves unexpectedly, do not change every setting at once. Try another route in the same region first; this makes it easier to tell whether the issue comes from the route path or the service region.

Streaming

For streaming, check the content region first, then the streaming support label. After choosing a supported route in the target region, log in to the service and test playback quality and continuity. If regional detection changes, try another route in the same country. Routes in different countries are not interchangeable because content catalogs and account policies may differ.

AI Tools

AI Tools can be sensitive to connection setup, persistent sessions, and regional entry points. Prefer an IEPL dedicated line or transit route in the target service's region, and keep one stable exit point for login, conversations, or task submission. If the page opens but tasks repeatedly fail to submit, try another route in the same region first, then check for conflicting proxy rules in the client.

Gaming

For gaming, confirm the service region first, then focus on connection continuity. Choose a route near the game service region and avoid switching during a match. Direct routes work well for baseline testing, while transit routes suit cases that require an adjusted cross-region path. Matchmaking region, account region, and route exit are separate concepts; if matchmaking fails, check them independently.

Remote work

Remote work involves continuous tasks such as meetings, documents, code repositories, and authentication, so stable connectivity matters more than briefly opening a webpage. Consider an IEPL dedicated line first, with a transit route in the same region as a backup. Keep the same exit region during work and avoid switching mid-meeting or during file synchronization. If only one collaboration tool behaves unexpectedly, test its login, file, and real-time collaboration functions separately rather than judging the entire route from a single webpage.

Route order: target service region → route type → backup entry point in the same region. Once the connection is stable, keep the current route and adjust locally only when a specific service has an issue.

Four factors for choosing a route

First, match the region to the target service. The route exit region can affect content catalogs, login policies, and available service entry points. Do not rely on geographic distance alone. Confirm the required country or region first, then choose the corresponding route.

Second, match the type to task continuity. Start with a direct route for short webpage visits; meetings, code synchronization, AI tasks, and extended streaming are better suited to testing transit or an IEPL dedicated line first. “Better suited” describes route selection guidance, not a fixed promise for every network environment.

Third, keep an alternative entry point in the same region. When a route loads pages incompletely, takes too long to establish a connection, or drops a persistent connection, switch to another route in the same region first. This limits the effect of regional changes on account and content policies and makes troubleshooting easier.

Fourth, keep client settings isolated. If a system proxy, browser extension, or another network tool also takes over the connection, route test results may be misleading. During troubleshooting, keep one client configuration active and verify login, route connectivity, and the target service before restoring other network settings.
